A Word of the Lord

Woke hearing a song of the Lord
“The Kingdom of Heaven is At Hand”

From my journal:

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

I woke up in the early hours of the morning hearing a song the Lord gave me for a church two months earlier on April 15th.

The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Repent O people, repent of your sin.
For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

A dear friend who was pastor of a small country church in my county, invited me to come and sing at an evening service. As I was driving to the church, I asked the Lord to give me a song for this congregation of believers–a song that HE wanted them to hear–a song from HIM. Instantly, I began singing a new melody and the words above. It was a simple chorus, but this slow and sobering song was from the Lord. This would not have been my choice of song to sing to a congregation of God’s people, but I knew it was from the Lord and I knew I must sing it. I shared with them of my asking the Lord for a song just for them and I sang this call to repentance four times through. I got some questioning looks from some of the congregation as I sang it.

Two months later, while on vacation in Florida, I woke up before dawn hearing this song going off in my head.  I had not sang it again since He gave it to me two months earlier and had me sing it at my friends church.  I knew that He wanted me to get up. I came into the living room of the condo and sat down at the windows overlooking the ocean. I asked the Lord to speak to me but didn’t hear anything else from the Lord. After sitting there worshiping the Lord for several minutes, I got up and got my laptop to document my awakening.  I then picked up my Bible and opened it.  It fell open to the Psalms and my eyes fell on Psalm 119:114. So I began to read.

“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God. Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live and let me not be ashamed of my hope. Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statues continually.

God’s word is so powerful. As I was typing this Scripture, the Lord brought back to my remembrance a vision I had just before I woke up, but had lost as soon as I awoke hearing the song.   Here is the vision:

I was standing in the street of a large city. Peripherally I could see tall buildings and a thick crowd of people passing on the sidewalk, but my focus was on what was directly before me at my feet. About four or five  feet in front of me were three Asian children sitting side by side on the edge of the sidewalk, with their feet on the edge of the street. They looked to be only about three or four years old. The child in the middle was directly before me, and was the one I saw so clearly. I knew they were Asian, because I could see this child’s expressionless face and Asian eyes. Suddenly, a missile flew down between me and these children. It was directly in front of this middle child. Just before it hit the pavement and would have exploded before us, it flipped end-over-end, just inches above the street, and went back up into the sky. When it did this, it’s large fiery trail sprayed the children and set them on fire. I felt so badly, and sensed that this was an American missile. I sensed that we were at war with these Asian people.

What I saw next was so troubling, and is very hard to describe. I did not hear anything, but my focus was on this one child directly before me. His body was instantly charred black. The only movement I saw this child make was when he  reached over and peeled off a piece of his flesh from his right leg, and with fire still flickering from the skin, he put it in his mouth as if to eat it. I didn’t see pain on his face, and I wondered if because of this being so traumatic, that the child couldn’t feel it or was just in shock. After seeing this happen to this child, although I did not see anyone speaking to me, I heard someone standing near speak to me and say that these children were “on the streets”. I knew that these children had no home and lived on the streets.

When this vision came back to me it was very troubling. My mind kept replaying the scene of the missile and the child peeling the flaming skin off and putting it in his mouth. I wondered where this had taken place. I felt like it was in an Asian country that the U.S. was at war with. I thought of China and North Korea.  I thought of how sad it is that the innocent are always the ones who suffer from the sins of the nation. These children in my vision were already suffering from hunger, and now they were the ones suffering from war.

After I remembered the vision and documented it, I could not help but notice what verse 118 of Psalm 119 said.

verse 118…Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statues: for their deceit is falsehood. Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.

Lord, as I read this, I admit I too, as David fear You. I fear, not in horror, but in deep respect of You. My flesh also trembles even thinking of being in Your Presence and of your judgment coming upon the earth, for You Lord are so mighty (so “terrible” as the KJV says it) but more than my mind can even comprehend.

In posting this, I cannot help but think of the post titled: 09.17.2002 Bicycles in the Sky…Hailstones of Fire. Reason being, the Lord showed me this was China at war with us.  It also brought to my remembrance the Word the Lord spoke to me concerning Iran and North Korea in the post titled: “03.14.2003 Iraq War~Iran and N Korean Threats”

Though I did not remember this vision of the Asian children until after I awoke hearing the song and reading the Scripture, I must point out that the vision of this warfare and this devastation involving an Asian city came first.  Then, after seeing this devastation, I awoke hearing the song,

“The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand”.

UPDATE 03.31.2009

North Korea is on the verge of test firing a long range missile any day, and has many other nations up in arms about it.  This is a threat not only to America, but to Japan and South Korea as well.  Our nations are on trigger ready alert and N. Korea is threatening if any response is made to this testing that they claim is strictly for satellite purposes.  The most recent news reports are saying how this missile could hold multiple nuclear warheads.  Our submarines and other military are in a defense posture and in place out in international waters, poised to intercept if necessary.
