Word of the Lord

Woke hearing an angel singing

“The King is Coming! The King is Coming!”

I sat here and read the book of Nahum this morning and I fell asleep.  A few minutes later I woke up hearing someone singing “The King is coming! The King is coming!” very jubilantly and very pretty.  It was not the same song written years ago.  It was a new song.   Immediately, I realized that this was the same as when I had been woke up 3 times before, just a few months ago, with this same man’s voice whispering loudly and urgently in my ear saying, “JESUS is coming!”

TRULY, the return of our Lord is drawing near.

The DAY OF THE LORD is at hand!

Four Years Later

October 3, 2009

The Lord had me reading back through these posts for most of the day today.  When I came upon this one and saw that when the Angel of the Lord sang this to me, I had just read the book of Nahum.  Now Nahum is not a book that I read on a regular basis.  But, as I saw this today, I instantly realized that I had to go back and read Nahum again and see what the Lord was saying to me before I fell asleep.

Nahum was also a “Seer”, and as told in the first verse, this book is of a vision the Lord gave him.  As I read the first three verses, though it did not refer to him as such,  I saw the Lord as KING–one who had all power and though slow to anger, would execute His wrath upon the wicked in His fury.  I saw that it spoke of the end times when He would judge the world.

Nahum 1:6 (KJV)
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Jesus our KING is coming, and His coming is nearer than any dare imagine.  He will reign on the earth as victorious KING and will execute His righteous judgment in the earth.  Vengeance is His and the wicked will melt before Him.  Mountains will quake and His fury will be poured out like fire.  Who shall abide His coming?  Only those who have been washed in His blood and whose garments have been made white in His righteousness.

Nahum foresaw God bring the downfall of Nineveh.  He foresaw God use another nation to bring the utter downfall of this powerful city and nation.  God not only brought destruction, but cast shame on her before the nations.  He filth and nakedness, her witchcraft and vile whoredoms were displayed as a gazingstock. Take a moment to read a portion of Matthew Henry’s commentary on the words of God through the prophet Nahum.

It is avowed by the righteous Judge of heaven and earth; it is his doing, and let all the world take notice that it is so (v. 13): Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts. And what good can hosts do for her in her defence, when the Lord of hosts is against her for her destruction? The oppressors in Nineveh thought they only set their neighbours against them, who were not a match for them, and whom they could easily overpower; but it proved they set God against them, who is, and will be, the asserter of right and the avenger of wrong. —Matthew Henry Unabridged

As I mentioned earlier, Jesus’ return as King is not mentioned in the vision of Nahum, but God as the Righteous Judge of heaven and earth is made known.  I feel that the Lord had this phrase, The King is coming! The King is coming!, sang to me to confirm all that He had been showing me and telling me.  So I say to you…

THE KING IS COMING! THE KING IS COMING!
