11.12.2006 Men Burned Alive in Iraq

Night Vision

Men being burned alive in a street in Baghdad.

Fulfilled: 12 days later on 11/24/2006

I awoke from a night vision.  I was standing in the middle of the street in Baghdad.  There were buildings on both sides, and close to the street so it appeared that I was in the middle of the city.  There, in the middle of the street about 10-15 feet away from me was a silver, metal table that reminded me of a table you would be on in an operating room.  Lying on his back and strapped to this table was a fully clothed man.  Though I couldn’t see his face at first, I could see his clothes and knew he too was an Iraqi.  There were other Iraqi men standing on each side of the table and some a few feet away in the street.  One of the men poured some sort of fuel on this mans chest and body and set him on fire.  His body was jerking in pain.  I heard no sound, but only saw.  There was a silver metal sleeve about 12 inches wide around this mans neck and fanned upward toward his face.  It looked like one of those lampshade looking collars they put on dogs to keep them from biting while grooming etc., only this was metal.  I didn’t know what it was for until I saw the flames blazing up around it.  I realized then that they had put this on this man in order to prolong his suffering by keeping the flames from reaching his face.  It was all done as deliberate torture, and I knew that this would be done to others.   I cringed as I watched this man’s torment and felt threatened by it–wondering if this was what would happen to me if they saw me.  But then I sensed that I was only there to witness this.  As I watched, I could see several men standing on both sides of the street just milling about, watching, and doing nothing to stop this.

Twelve days later, 11/24/2006, the following is reported.

Iraqis Burned Alive In Revenge Attacks

BAGHDAD, Nov. 24, 2006

(My notes from my dream in ( ) and in red)

(CBS/AP) Revenge-seeking militiamen seized six Sunnis as they left Friday prayers (this was in the city) and burned them alive with kerosene in a savage new twist to the brutality (this  was the prolonged torture in my dream, for kerosene soaked clothing will burn like a lamp wick) shaking the Iraqi capital a day after suspected Sunni insurgents killed 215 people in Baghdad’s main Shiite district.

Iraqi soldiers at a nearby army post failed to intervene in Friday’s assault (these were those watching that did nothing to stop it) by suspected members of the Shiite Mahdi Army militia or subsequent attacks that killed at least 19 other Sunnis, including women and children, in the same neighborhood, the volatile Hurriyah district in northwest Baghdad, said police Capt. Jamil Hussein.

I found a photo (unrelated to this attack) of the Hurriyah district of Baghdad.  Though I had never seen pictures of the inner streets of Baghdad before my dream, this photo shows the street and buildings on both sides just as I saw in my dream.  (Photo by: Ali Yussef/AFP/Getty Images)
